With Android 7.0, some subsystem now seems to hijack the audio, making keys not play sometimes, along with other audio issues. The problem isn't just with this app (edit: with Android 7.0 and above, you have to go to Battery in the Android Settings, find "Battery optimization" and turn it off for this app. This helps. The remaining problem has to do with new Android memory or library changes)"
